COVID-19 & the New Corporate!
Flattening the COVID-19 curve together
The world is in the midst of the worst pandemic in more than 100 years, almost every country in the world had to face the devastating effects of the Novel Coronavirus. Given that pandemic-driven crisis is constantly changing, countries are desperate to flatten the curve for COVID-19. Countries are under full or partial lockdown for the last many months. It is a global challenge and a global response is called for.
Flattening the COVID-19 curve together helps everyone in an inclusive manner. The twin health and economic shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic are staggering in their breadth and scale, yet we are making an attempt to come back.
Corporate and businesses are now opening up, people are now going to offices and striving to get back to work. But the workplace in the new normal will not be the same as it was before lockdown. Taking precautions like maintaining social distancing, sanitizing frequently, and wearing masks will be must for corporate to comply by.
As more and more people come in contact again, there is a need to test more number of people.
COVID-19 right now, testing still remains critical
Early testing also helps to identify anyone who came into contact with infected people so they too can be quickly treated. While we are obviously not in that ideal situation with COVID-19 right now, testing still remains critical. It's crucial of course to help treat, isolate or hospitalize people who are infected. Testing also is important in the bigger public health picture on mitigation efforts, helping investigators characterize the prevalence, spread and contagiousness of the disease.

“Testing still remains the need of the hour globally, more than 13.6 million have tested positive and over 586,000 have died. After the US, which has carried out a record 42 million COVID-19 tests, India has done the second largest number of 12 million coronavirus tests”, as per the White House. Since the need for testing needs to go up, Meril has indigenously developed India’s first Multiplex RT-PCR testing kit. Ramping up testing has been at the center of India’s efforts to contain the pandemic, and the priorities of testing strategy specified by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are diagnosis and sero-surveillance. Meril is able to support India, by providing India’s first CE-approved, multiplex RT-PCR test, The Meril R&D team is also developing an ELISA kit for the detection of IgM antibodies to help screen freshly infected patients.

New social and behavioral norms “social distancing”, “wearing masks”, “maintaining hygiene”, etc. are the new normal, and countries have to adjust with such new normal amid the pandemic. Surely, vaccines and proper medicines to tackle the COVID-19 will be invented. However, there is no place of complacency. Globally we have to be prepared to tackle this and we are in this together, to Unbox Hope for the nation and the world!
